The Montague County Sheriff’s Office's Community Camera Program is a collaborative initiative that encourages residents and businesses to register their privately owned security cameras with the Sheriff's Office. By voluntarily sharing your camera's location, you can play an essential role in solving crimes and enhancing public safety.

Registering your cameras DOES NOT allow the Sheriff's Office access to see your live video stream or recordings - it only enables investigators to know a camera is present at your location and easily request video evidence should an incident occur.

How It Works:

  1. Register Your Camera
    • Use our simple online form to register your security camera(s).
    • Provide basic information, such as your name, address, and contact details, along with the location of your camera(s).

  2. Your Privacy Matters
    • Registration DOES NOT give the Sheriff's Office direct access to your camera feed.
    • Your camera footage will only be requested if a crime occurs in your area.

  3. When Needed, We'll Reach Out
    • In the event of a crime nearby, investigators may contact you to request footage from your camera that could help with the investigation.

Why Register?

  • Help deter and solve crimes in your area.
  • Assist deputies in quickly gathering evidence to improve case outcomes.
  • Strengthen the partnership between the Sheriff's Office and the Montague County community.
