The Montague County Sheriff's Office has launched the Voluntary Camera Registration (VCR), a partnership with residents and businesses to locate potential video evidence that can be used in criminal investigations to deter and solve crimes quickly in our county. Residents who would like to volunteer information about their home or business video surveillance system, such as a Ring doorbell, can fill out the online form below.

*If you have cameras at multiple locations/addresses, please fill out one form for each address.

If a crime occurs, deputies and investigators will be able to search the VCR database to determine if a participant is in the area of the crime and might have surveillance footage that would aid in the investigation. If investigators determine a VCR participant might have such footage, they have the ability to reach out to the resident to obtain the footage based upon the information provided during registration. At no point will the Montague County Sheriff's Office have access to an individual's or business's camera system.

The VCR program is completely voluntary. For questions, please contact the Montague County Sheriff's Office at 940-894-2871.

The goal of the Voluntary Camera Registration (VCR) is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration between the Montague County Sheriff's Office and the county we serve.

If you have any questions, please call the Montague County Sheriff's Office at 940-894-2871.
